Business Intelligence (BI) Tool for Data Analysis

This product, Accelerated InfoQuest, meets the needs of users who want both the ability to carry out intensive data analysis and to have a broad-brush overview of information.  It includes a smart client application designed for data presentation, analysis, and mining from a variety of data sources in a single integrated presentation.  Users can change this presentation of information by reordering the columns, thus causing a re-grouping and re-aggregating of information and a totally different view of the same dataset.

Here are the highlights:

  • Provides OLAP-like capability without the complexity and development of SQL cubes
  • Uses a .NET FlexGrid from ComponentOne for sorting/merging large datasets from modern data sources, such as Microsoft SQL Server 2008
  • Useful for wrapping legacy databases and systems with modern visualization tools
  • Utilizes movable columns, resulting in re-sorting/re-merging of the grid, left-to-right and top-to-bottom
  • Employs click-once deployment for fast, trouble-free installation
  • Uses ASP.NET web services (XML, SOAP, and WSDL standards) to retrieve data from a variety of current and legacy data sources
  • Developed in Microsoft Visual Basic .NET
  • Marketed by Accelerated Information Technologies (AIT), Inc. under the product name, Accelerated InfoQuest (www.acceleratedinfo.com

Sample Screen Shots from Accelerated InfoQuest (AIQ)

A.  Here, an initial dataset from a sales database is brought into AIQ, sorted by Customer name, then by SalesPerson for each Customer.

B.  Then, the same dataset is re-sorted and re-merged by moving Ship Region to column 1 and SalesPerson to column 2.  The result is that the same data is viewed from an entirely new perspective, first by Ship Region and then by SalesPerson within each Ship Region.

C.  You can set appropriate filters to reduce the amount of data brought into the client for manipulation.

D.  The resulting dataset is reduced to sales from a particular SalesPerson and Country.
